There are many devices that can be jailbroken with Checkra1n under iOS 13. Our complete tutorial is good for everyone. The iOS 12 jailbreak is available for iPhone X, 8, 7, 6s.
If you came across this article, you are interested in jailbreaking . This tutorial is valid for all devices running iOS 13 (13 -> 13.2.2) .
The devices that are not yet supported are: iPhone XS , iPhone XS Max , iPhone XR and iPad Pro 2018 .
Note: You will need a computer running macOS to perform this operation. Windows support is expected to arrive in the next few weeks.
Step 1: Check that its device is compatible ( iOS 13+ ) -> If it is not, update it to the latest version via iTunes (or via the phone if you are not already jailbroken).
Step 2: Download the latest version of Checkra1n available here
Step 3: On your iPhone, verify that no OTA update is downloaded to your device. Settings> General> iPhone storage . If there is one, delete it.
Step 4: Connect your iPhone to the computer. Open Checkra1n.
Step 5: Check that your device is recognized by the software, if so, we can start the manipulation. Click on Start, then Next, then you will have to follow the instructions on the screen.
It will be necessary to put his device in DFU mode (the old jailbreak will remember this crucial step).
- iPhone 8 or iPhone X: press volume + (plus) once and volume – (minus) once, then hold down the Power button (right) until your iPhone displays a cable and a computer.
- iPad with Face ID: same process as above
- iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPod touch (7th generation): Press and hold the Power button and the volume – (minus) button simultaneously. Continue to hold them down until the recovery mode screen appears.
- iPad with home button, iPhone 6s (or earlier model) and iPod touch 6th generation (or earlier model): press and hold the home button and the Power button simultaneously. Keep holding them down until the recovery mode screen appears
Once you have completed the steps, you should have the Checkra1n app present on your device. Open it and install Cydia.
And there you have it, the Cydia application is installed!
The jailbreak is therefore finished. But this is a semi-untethered jailbreak , ie you will have to re-open Checkra1n on your computer and reinstall the application each time the device is restarted. In which case Cydia and the apps and tweaks downloaded on it will not open.
It is the only jailbreak currently available, while waiting for a full-untethered , we will have to do with it.
